Description
Start Your Scuba Diving Journey with the PADI Open Water Diver Course
Thinking about getting your scuba diving certification but unsure where to begin? You’ve come to the right place! We’re here to guide you through everything you need to know to kickstart your underwater adventure.
We’re excited to introduce the PADI Open Water Diver Course, the most recognized and widely accepted scuba certification worldwide. This course is the foundation of the entire PADI system and is designed to take you from a complete beginner to a confident diver, capable of exploring the underwater world with a buddy at depths of up to 18 meters.
What You’ll Learn
The course is divided into three main components: theory, confined water sessions, and open water dives.
Theory
Before arriving at the dive center, you’ll receive access to comprehensive learning materials. You can complete these at your own pace, either online or in a classroom setting, depending on your preference.
To ensure you understand the material, you’ll complete:
•5 knowledge reviews
•5 quizzes
•1 final exam
Confined Water Sessions
You’ll participate in five confined water dives, usually conducted in calm, shallow areas—either in a pool or at the surface of the sea. These sessions provide the perfect environment to practice your scuba skills safely.
During this stage, you’ll focus on neutral buoyancy control, which is essential for safe and enjoyable diving. We emphasize this skill throughout the training, ensuring you can dive confidently and with control. You’ll also learn to handle minor underwater challenges, building the confidence needed to dive independently.
Open Water Dives
The open water portion of the course includes six dives, where you’ll apply the skills you learned in confined water sessions, but now in real open water conditions. These dives will be at greater depths and in more dynamic environments.
Here, you’ll focus on new skills, such as safe descents. Initially, you’ll use a rope or a bottom line for controlled descents, and later, you’ll progress to free descents without visual reference. This part of the course is often both the most exciting and the most challenging. However, with practice, it becomes second nature.
Course Location: Eilat Bay
We’re proud to offer this course in Eilat Bay, one of the best diving locations in the region, with exceptional conditions:
•Calm waters with no strong currents or storms
•Excellent underwater visibility
•Both shallow and deep water accessible directly from shore
•Water temperatures ranging from 21°C in winter to 29°C in summer
•Sunny weather year-round, with winter air temperatures reaching up to 24°C
These ideal conditions make Eilat the perfect place to learn scuba diving, any time of the year.
What’s Next?
After earning your Open Water Diver certification, many students choose to continue with the Advanced Open Water Diver course. This next level allows you to dive to 30 meters, explore different types of dives (like deep or night diving), and further build your confidence and skills.
If you decide to combine both courses, you’ll be looking at a 7-day program. You’ll gain more experience, have even more fun, and finish with an advanced certification that opens up a world of new diving adventures.
