Description

Hello, fellow certified divers!

Here’s another exciting wreck dive for those who love marine history and underwater adventure. Let us introduce you to the “Satil” — a missile boat, originally named “Storm” in the Israeli Navy. This impressive vessel is about 70 meters long, resting at a maximum depth of 24 meters in Eilat Bay.

The story behind the Satil is truly fascinating — and while we usually steer clear of politics, this one has strong historical roots.

The Satil was originally purchased from France, but after the deal was completed, France imposed a military embargo on Israel due to a political decision (you can look up the full details online). As a result, several ships were detained — including the Satil.

In response, Israel carried out a special operation to retrieve the vessels — and successfully brought the Satil home. It went on to serve in the Israeli Navy for many years before being decommissioned.

Instead of scrapping it, the ship was intentionally sunk to create an artificial reef and dive site, where it now rests on the seafloor.

The Satil wreck is a relatively easy and accessible dive, suitable for both Open Water and Advanced divers.

Open Water divers can descend safely to the deck level.

Advanced divers can explore the entire exterior down to the bottom of the wreck at 24 meters.

So, divers — we’d love to invite you to join us on a unique underwater journey to explore the Satil. It’s not just a wreck — it’s a living piece of history beneath the waves.
