Why is it so great?

Sidemount diving offers a completely different experience from traditional backmount configurations commonly used in recreational and technical diving. With sidemount, the diver carries two tanks mounted on the sides, each with its own independent regulator. This setup offers several key advantages:

• Redundancy: It’s like having a buddy with you—more air, more regulators, and more safety.

• Flexibility: Tanks can be attached before entering the water, while in the water, or even underwater—based on the diver’s preference and comfort.

• Comfort and Streamlining: The tanks are secured to the harness using snap bolts and bungees in a special configuration. The harness includes a bladder-style BCD positioned on the diver’s back, offering excellent balance and mobility.

• Ideal Trim: With sidemount, achieving perfect horizontal trim is much easier. Divers wearing wetsuits can stay horizontal and neutrally buoyant without finning!

• Access to Unique Dive Sites: Having two tanks can make it possible to access certain dive sites that would be difficult or even impossible with a single tank.

• Great for Technical Diving: While you must still follow no-decompression limits unless properly trained, sidemount is a great introduction to PADI Tec 40, 45, and 50 courses. For technical divers, sidemount makes carrying and managing multiple tanks much more practical and ergonomic.
