Description
Hey certified Advanced Divers – it’s time to talk about safety – yours and others’.
The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed specifically to prepare you for emergencies. Want to improve your own safety? Want to be the kind of diver who’s ready to help others in need? You’re in the right place.
What is the PADI Rescue Diver Course?
This course is developed with two main goals:
1 To improve your own safety awareness and skills, which is the foundation of helping others.
2 To train you to recognize and respond to dive-related emergencies – whether they happen on the surface or underwater.
As a Rescue Diver, you’ll learn to identify signs of stress, fatigue, panic, or confusion in other divers – and how to respond using the right techniques for each situation.
What You’ll Learn
The Rescue Diver course includes both theoretical knowledge and practical training:
• Theory: You’ll receive study materials before the course begins, which you can review at your own pace. If you prefer, we can also go through the content together in classroom-style presentations.
• Practical Exercises: You’ll complete around 12 training exercises, both on the surface and underwater, including:
◦ Self-rescue
◦ Assisting a tired diver at the surface
◦ Handling a panicked diver at the surface
◦ Responding to an emergency from a boat or shore
◦ Assisting a distressed diver underwater
◦ Managing panic underwater
◦ Searching for a missing diver
◦ Handling an unconscious diver at the surface and underwater
Once you’ve mastered each skill individually, you’ll take part in two full rescue scenarios. These surprise mock emergencies, set up by your instructor, will challenge you to apply everything you’ve learned in realistic conditions.
Course Duration
The course takes place over two days. During this time, you’ll build the foundational knowledge and skills to manage diving emergencies, both for yourself and for other divers.
