Trained by a Course Director — the instructor of instructors

This is where we’re different. Your IDC is led by a PADI Course Director — the highest professional rating in the PADI system and the only level qualified to train new instructors. Learning to teach from an instructor-of-instructors means you build the right habits from day one, and you do it in Eilat’s calm, clear, year-round diving conditions on the Red Sea — an ideal classroom for mastering open-water teaching.

What to expect from the IDC

The IDC is an intensive 14-day program that takes you from Divemaster to a certified PADI OWSI, finishing with the two-day Instructor Examination (IE).

Theory

The course starts with a thorough review of PADI educational standards and five key knowledge areas: Physics, Physiology, Scuba Equipment, the RDP (Recreational Dive Planner), and Diving Skills & the Aquatic Environment. You’ll begin preparing before the course, and we’ll review everything together until you’re confident in each area.

Classroom presentations

You’ll learn to deliver academic presentations confidently using the PADI system, so you can teach classroom sessions for divers of every level — from Open Water Diver to Divemaster.

Confined water teaching

In a pool or confined water you’ll practise briefing and demonstrating skills, solving problems, maintaining group control and safety, and debriefing students effectively.

Open water teaching

In open water the real-world challenges begin: controlled descents, surface management in currents and waves, and adapting to different ocean conditions. This hands-on experience prepares you to teach in any dive environment.

The Instructor Examination (IE)

After 12 days of intensive training you’ll take the IE, led by a PADI examiner — the final test of your knowledge and teaching ability. Pass it, and you’re a certified PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI), ready for dive jobs worldwide, including right here in Eilat.
