Satil Wreck — Eilat’s Most Famous Dive Site
The Satil Wreck (also spelled Sattil) is the most celebrated dive site in Eilat, Israel, and one of the top wreck dives in the Red Sea. Resting at a depth of 22–28 meters off the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba, this decommissioned Israeli Navy missile boat was deliberately sunk in 1994 to create an artificial reef — and it has become a thriving underwater ecosystem ever since.
About the Satil Wreck
The vessel measures approximately 45 meters in length and sits upright on a sandy seabed, making it accessible for a wide range of certified divers. The hull, deck, and interior compartments are now heavily encrusted with corals, sponges, and sea fans. Schools of glassfish, anthias, and lionfish are permanent residents, while larger visitors such as grouper, barracuda, and the occasional Napoleon wrasse patrol the perimeter.
Dive Conditions
The Satil Wreck is best suited for Advanced Open Water divers and above, due to its depth and the overhead environment inside the wreck. Visibility in Eilat is exceptional year-round, often exceeding 20–30 meters, and the Red Sea’s warm water (22–27°C) means a 3mm wetsuit is comfortable for most of the year.

How to Get There
The Satil Wreck is located off the northern beach of Eilat, just minutes from the city centre. We depart from our dive centre and provide all transport to the entry point. The dive is typically conducted as a boat dive or shore entry depending on conditions.
