Yatush — Eilat’s Pristine Reef Dive Site
Yatush is one of the most pristine and unspoiled reef dive sites in Eilat, offering divers an authentic Red Sea experience away from the busier northern beaches. Known for its healthy coral cover, excellent visibility, and abundant marine life, Yatush is a must-dive for anyone exploring the underwater world of Eilat.
The Yatush Reef
The Yatush site showcases a classic Red Sea fringing reef, with a shallow reef flat giving way to a dramatic coral slope. The reef is in excellent condition, hosting a diverse range of coral species — from massive brain corals and table corals to delicate sea fans and fire coral formations. Schools of anthias and glassfish cloud around the coral heads, while larger fish like grouper and snapper patrol the deeper sections.
Turtles are occasional visitors at Yatush, and lucky divers have encountered whale sharks in the deeper blue water beyond the reef edge. Octopus, lionfish, and scorpionfish are year-round residents that reward attentive divers who take time to search the reef carefully.
Dive Conditions at Yatush
Yatush is accessible for Open Water certified divers and above. The shallow reef top sits at 3–6 meters, making it excellent for snorkellers and beginner divers, while the slope extends to 20–30 meters for more experienced divers. Water temperature ranges from 21°C in winter to 27°C in summer, and visibility is consistently impressive at 15–25+ meters.
